Bogolanfini, which translates to "mudcloth", is a hand-dyed cotton textile crafted predominantly by the Bamana people of Mali. Using fermented mud and a solution of boiled plant leaves, artisans create meaningful designs on the field, which is pieced together from long strips of woven cotton. These large pieces of bogolanfini make very dramatic throws, wall hangings or picnic blankets.
