This is a large ram’s horn Shofar. It has been polished and this gives it a beautiful sheen. The polish in no way affects the kashrut or quality of sound.

The larger-size Shofars produce a splendid sound and the size 17” and up is recommended for use by the bal tokeah – the one who blows in the Synagogue for the Congregation. This Shofar is non-scented and has certification from the Rabbinate testifying to Kashrut. Like all our Shofars, it will be tested and examined again before shipping.

Choose from three sizes 15”-20”. Note: we determine the length by measuring along the outside curve. The Shofar pictured here is for illustration - color and shape vary.

The Shofar is a rallying call. In ancient times, it roused the people for war, opened public gatherings and announced special days such as Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh. Today, it is used chiefly on Rosh Hashanah when it is also as a rallying call, arousing us to self-examination and sincere prayer. May we respond to the call and be inscribed for a healthy happy and sweet New Year.

When purchasing this shofar you will receive our informative Shofar Guide with tips on blowing and caring for your shofar.

Barsheshet-Ribak is an Israeli shofar company dating back hundreds of years, passed from father to son, who painstakingly craft the shofars with dedication and reverence for this spiritual item. Their shofars reflect unequalled beauty and quality craftsmanship recognized by shofar collectors and religious communities worldwide.
